Indo-Western

Indo-Western is our largest fusion edit, created for guests and brides who want the craftsmanship and embellishment of Indian couture with the refined cuts and silhouettes of contemporary Western eveningwear. Cape gowns, corseted skirt sets and structured one-piece gowns sit alongside draped silhouettes reimagined with Western-cut bodices, sleeves and modern proportions.

The design philosophy is built around deliberate contrast: fitted Western silhouettes such as corset bodices, structured capes, fishtail and A-line skirts are paired with traditional Indian embroidery techniques including zari, sequins, dabka and resham thread work. Fabrics are selected to support each structured silhouette, with raw silk and double satin providing shape and definition, while net and silk organza are layered over structured bases for capes and trains that offer movement without losing their form.

Craftsmanship is designed to reward a closer look, with beadwork tracing necklines, crystal and pearl accents placed at the waist or shoulder, and mirror work used selectively as an accent rather than across entire panels. This considered approach keeps the silhouettes refined and prevents the embellishment from overwhelming the design, making the collection particularly suited to cocktail parties, sangeet celebrations and receptions where guests want a look that feels distinctly fusion rather than strictly traditional or entirely Western.

Customisation is available across the collection, with cape length, corset fit and embroidery colour typically adjustable to suit individual preferences. Our team can also help you consider which silhouettes work best for different body types and function settings. Lead times generally range from 2–4 weeks for lighter fusion pieces, extending to 4–6 weeks for heavily structured gowns with dense embroidery.

If you are choosing between a fusion gown and a traditional lehenga for the same celebration, explore our Reception Collection and Sangeet Collection for more traditional occasion wear. Our Occasion Wear Collection offers a broader selection of festive and party dressing beyond fusion silhouettes.

For another contemporary Indian occasion wear option, explore our designer sharara sets or discover our designer sarees for a more traditional six-yard silhouette.

FAQs

Indo-western fashion blends traditional Indian craftsmanship — handwork, heritage textiles, and artisan embroidery — with contemporary Western silhouettes such as blazers, structured capes, palazzo trousers, and fusion lehengas. The result is modern and deeply rooted.

Indo-western pieces are ideal for cocktail parties, engagement ceremonies, destination weddings, receptions, fashion-forward mehendi functions, and any occasion where you want to balance tradition with a contemporary edge.

Absolutely. Our indo-western collection is designed with global sensibilities in mind — pieces that read as refined fashion internationally while carrying the unmistakable identity of Indian craftsmanship.

Our structured pieces are tailored to your precise measurements. The cut is sharp and deliberate, combining the discipline of Western tailoring with the richness of Indian textiles and handwork details.

Yes. All indo-western pieces can be customised for silhouette, fabric, colour, and embellishment level. Our team can also create entirely new designs if you have a bespoke vision in mind.

Delivery depends on the complexity of the design. Most styles are ready in 6–10 weeks. Heavily embroidered or fully bespoke pieces may require up to 14 weeks from order confirmation.

Expert Advice
Ordering too close to the wedding date, skipping a trial fitting, and choosing embroidery weight without considering the season are the most common regrets we hear about. See our Price Guide to plan your budget early.
Factor in alteration time, the venue's climate, and how the outfit pairs with your jewellery before finalising a piece. Read our Body Type Guide for fit recommendations.
Store hand-embroidered pieces flat or loosely rolled in breathable muslin, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Full fabric-care notes in our Fabric Guide.
Balance a heavily embroidered piece with minimal jewellery, and let one statement piece — a maang tikka or choker — lead. More in our Styling Guide.
